Psychotic Episode was a mgazine that was pretty awesome in the 80′s and 90′s releasing never before seen comics as well as music and art and anything else it could fit into the runoff pages from local copy machines in or around Ybor City. That magazine has long been done and out of print, no one really knows why or how it ever began in the first place. That was before the internet was used in the ways that it’s used today. In our quest for all things alt and underground regardless of its mainstream qualities or lack thereof we bring you a few favorites that were brought to my attention via Psychotic Episode circa 1990.
The original were cut out of The Situationalist Internationale publication Not Bored, and pasted into Psych Ep. magazine with credits to the originals scrawled in pen next to it in some barely legible handwriting.
Ed, the founder and editor of Psychotic Magazine and Sluggisha Tapes was most known for his work with own bands like Whoreshack, One Fell Swoop and recorded countless live shows in and around the industrial and goth/punk scene from the early 80′s atleast until the mid to late 90′s Ed also mastermind the Appocalyptic Centurions project which consisted of over 20 musicians at times from various bands around the Tampa/Ybor,Miami,Ft Lauderdale and Ft Myers goth/industrial scene including members of the original MYOPIA and also the original BIG BONG THEORY. And the ever popular Ephedrine Symphony.
You can find some traces of and Sluggisha Tapes here…
